ARTIST STATEMENT
My work is rooted in the moments that make us pause—a sunrise unfolding over the ocean, the stillness of snow-covered mountains, the rhythm of waves, or the quiet beauty of changing skies. Through acrylics, I bring these experiences to life through a blend of realism and impressionism, exploring light, colour, texture and emotion.
For me, art is not simply about recreating what we see. It is about capturing what we feel when we truly experience a moment.
This belief led me to create my unique 3D Concave Canvas, a distinctive canvas form designed to create a more immersive relationship between the viewer and the artwork. By curving the visual field, the canvas gently draws the eye inward, allowing the landscape to be experienced with greater focus and presence.
At the heart of my practice is Zensation—my expression of the feeling that arises when tranquillity and happiness meet, and we become completely present in the moment.
Through my paintings, I hope to create more than beautiful images. I hope to create a feeling—a pause from the noise of everyday life, a moment of calm, and a reminder to slow down and simply be.

ARTIST JOURNEY
Art. My love at 1st sight from my very 1st art class in school. I would have wonder in my eyes and a smile on my lips; pure happiness. I would wait every week for that one hour of art class to learn something new.
As life caught up I lost touch. I would save chocolate wrappers with scenic beauty to paint them and gift them to near dear ones. Then in 2013 at Clearwater, Florida I signed up for a Painting class and that’s all it took to get hooked again. There was no turning back.
I started off painting with the intent to learn different forms of painting and then as a form of gratitude towards people close to me. Before starting any painting, I put down prayers and wishes for the receiver and when I paint, a reel of happy memories play on my mind. While I feel the joy of giving them a part of me, I am sure they can feel the love too.
HI! I am Deepika Shah, a self-taught full-time artist. I find poetry in nature as I observe and study trees, rain, water bodies, skies, mountains, the sun, the moon, the stars and all of mother nature’s beauty.
